Dear Chandler Wolves Players, Parents, Supporters, and Fans:
2013 is the year of the WOLVES! I am very excited to be the Head Coach of the Chandler football team. This is my third year of my tenure as a Head Coach; I am blessed with a staff of twenty–nine coaches that make it possible to provide outstanding support for our players. We are a very tight-knit group that has one goal in mind and that is to WIN the State Championship. I have the best Coaching Staff in the State of Arizona.
Our expectations are very high this year, as we come in with thirty-three seniors. Our goal as a staff is to create a solid foundation and instill discipline from the bottom up. These kids will gain character, integrity, accountability, and discipline in every aspect on and off the football field. Trust and love for one another plays an integral part of our OHANA (Family). Academics are a main focal point of our program too. Thanks to all the teachers and mentors who make this happen and make the Chandler football team the number one program in the state of Arizona.
Defense is the MAIN priority this year. We have five players returning on the defensive side of the ball, Wesley Sutton, Nate Sample, Jordan Hoyt, Cruz Flores and JR Hunt. They will lead this group, as they will be ferocious and play with a lot of intensity. Logan Gunkel, Dalyno Puffer, Lucian Toruga, and Garrett Jacobson will bring a wealth of playing experience as well. Our goal is to limit offenses to ten points per game. We have worked very hard in the off-season on our scheme and assignments.
Once again, our offense will be potent. We have five players returning back from an offense that averaged forty points per game last year. Mitch McCulley, Dionte Sykes, Nykeed Thomas, Danny Mahan, and Elijah Sykes are very talented athletes that we can count on to be a high scoring machine. Bryce Perkins and Mason Moran act as our signal callers, as both bring different aspects to the offense. Last but not least, our running backs Zech Culbreath, Chase Lucas, Anfernee Hale and DJ Ware will carry the bulk of our running offense. They play with intensity and passion on every play.
Finally, my job could not be possible without the help of some very important people. I would like to thank Camille Casteel, the Chandler Unified School District, support staff, and the grounds men for their continuous support. My main support comes from my family, my wife Kristin Aguano and my four beautiful kids Nainoa, Kahea, Bryn, and Kalia. Additionally, a big thank you to Larry Rother (Principal), Jim Culver (Athletic Director), the Booster Club, Parents, CHS, and especially the players for making this all worth while. I am the richest man in the world! I feel blessed to work in such a welcoming community day in and day out. At the end of the year there will be no doubt we are #1. MAKOA!!!
